Junior Software Engineer - Learn Python (£30k - £40k)

This is an excellent opportunity for a Junior Software Engineer to receive the training, mentorship and support needed to learn Python, and work on a sophisticated software suite within the Fintech sector.

Working remotely with only occasional office visit to their Manchester office (1-2 times a month), this role is paying between £30k and £40k per year + pension, private healthcare, life assurance etc. THE COMPANY: Established more than a decade ago, this FinTech company has created a suite of next-generation analytics and optimisation software tools, designed to address the challenges around 'Big Data' in the Financial Services space. They work with global financial institutions, providing cloud-based and on-premise technology solutions to deliver real-time intraday cash, collateral and liquidity management capabilities.

Recently placed in the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 as the highest ranking FinTech and North-West based firm; having been named a finalist in the Northern Tech Awards, as well as being awarded the RegTech of the Year in the US FinTech Awards 2021, this is a company that is going places. THE ROLE: With a strong contingent of Senior and Lead Python developers on the team, you will be given all the support, training and guidance needed to learn and transition across to Python, and work on the continued evolution, enhancement, and support of their product suite. You will also get involved in one of the many new product and module development projects that they have planned for the next 3 years.

On a day-to-day basis, you can expect to be involved in:

  • Software development (full-stack, full-lifecycle)
  • Troubleshooting development and production problems
  • Product customisation development
  • Provide support for existing software and clients

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of 2 years software programming experience with an Object Orientated development language
  • Sound SQL skills
  • Relevant University Degree
